Garrett E. Brierley is a Partner with The Law Offices of Spence | Brierley, P.C.
Garrett received his B.A. in Political Science, cum laude, from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2005, and received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Baltimore, School of Law in 2010.
After his first year in law school, Garrett completed an internship with the Honorable John M. Glynn (ret.) and the Honorable Timothy J. Doory in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, Maryland. While in law school, Garrett served as Associate Managing Editor for the University of Baltimore Law Review. Garrett served on the University of Baltimore Moot Court Board and competed in the Frederick Douglass Moot Court Competition, placing second in the regional competition. Garrett also served as the Honor Chair for the University of Baltimore, School of Law Honor Board, where he played an integral role in the reformation of the Honor Board’s policies and procedures. As a result of his endeavors, Garrett was awarded the Dean’s Citation for Outstanding Service to the School of Law.
Since 2010, Garrett has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Baltimore, School of Law, where he teaches appellate advocacy. Since 2010, Garrett has also been active with the Towson Chamber of Commerce, and has sat on the Board of Directors since 2013-2015.
Garrett is also involved with the Baltimore County Young Lawyers Committee and is a member of the Baltimore County Bar Association. Garrett is admitted to practice law in Maryland state courts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.
Garrett lives with his wife Jillian in Annapolis, Maryland. Outside of the practice of law, Garrett likes to snowboard, golf, and play his guitar.
