This past weekend, Adam Spence co-chaired a Boy Scouts of America Merit Badge University & Service Weekend for the Dulaney District. Held at Towson University, the event started on Saturday with over 100 scouts earning merit badges on subjects ranging from Citizenship in the World to Communications to Electricity.
The scouts then spent Saturday night eating in a Towson dining hall and experiencing a taste of college life. The Scouts then watched Star Wars and spent the night in tents, waking up at 4:30 a.m. to provide support for the Zero Prostate Cancer Race on Sunday.
Over 100 merit badges were earned by the boys, while the Scouts contributed over 850 service hours to the Zero Prostate Cancer Race. A smashing success, the Merit Badge University and Service weekend was an event founded by Mr. Spence as District Chair three years ago and continues to grow every year.
