Ryan Z. Ullman re-joins the firm as its newest associate, after having previously worked as a law clerk for SPENCE | BRIERLEY while in college.
Mr. Ullman will concentrate his practice in civil litigation, business disputes, family law, personal injury, trust and estate disputes, and creditors’ rights and collections. He has experience handling breach of contract, tax, family law, collection matters as well as complex review of financial documents in trust and estate disputes. He is currently licensed in the State of Maryland.
While in law school, Mr. Ullman served as Executive Technology Editors of the Journal of Business and Technology Law. In that role, Mr. Ullman managed the journal’s online presence and prepared articles for the journal’s website. In addition to his role as Technology Editor, Mr. Ullman researched and wrote an article about Benefit Corporations that was published in the journal. Benefit corporations are statutory corporations with modifications requiring transparency, accountability, and public benefit.
Growing up in Howard County, Mr. Ullman earned his baccalaureate from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) (the best basketball school in Maryland) where he was on the President’s and Dean’s honor lists. During his time at UMBC, Mr. Ullman was a Charter Member of the Rotaract Club and served as both internal and external vice president of his fraternity. In both of those roles, Mr. Ullman organized various volunteer service and extracurricular events to encourage his peers to give back to the surrounding community. Mr. Ullman also served as Treasurer of the Pre-Law Society.
Ryan continues to follow emerging technological issues and how they intersect with law and business, and is particularly interested in e-Sports, virtual reality, and the future of how we work. Ryan’s interest in technology fits well with SPENCE | BRIERLEY’s focus on using innovation to be a more efficient, adept and formidable foe in today’s fast-paced world.
